E' accessibile ai disabili solo il piano terra e piano primo della chiesa.
DESCRIZIONE
Il Monastero delle Benedettine, attualmente Casa del Comune, è situato in piazza della Repubblica, dalla quale, attraversando il sottopassaggio ricavato sotto al monastero stesso, si arriva nella piazzetta antistante la chiesa dell'Annunziata, da qui, proseguendo per via Berrilli, si segue un suggestivo percorso lungo il quale è possibile ammirare antichi palazzi nobiliari e caratteristiche abitazioni del luogo. Il Monastero delle benedettine risale alla seconda metà del 1500, una lapide affissa sulla facciata rivolta su via Roma testimonia le sue antiche origini, riportando la data del 1586 ed il monogramma del'Annunciazione (Ave Gratia Plena), insieme alle tre rose, simbolo dell'Universitas di Calitri. La chiesa dell'Annunziata, annessa al monastero è la più antica chiesa di Calitri rimasta in piedi, il portale è rinascimentale con lunetta, ispirato all'architettura romanica; all'interno della chiesa l'altare maggiore in stile barocco risale al '700, è di pregevolissima fattura lignea e le sculture rappresentano l'Annunziata e l'Angelo Annunziante. Vi è un altro altare ligneo del XVIII secolo con una scultura che rappresenta una Madonna con Bambino. Le due nicchie, attualmente vuote, originariamente, ospitavano due statue, una delle quali rappresenta S. Benedetto, patrono dell'Ordine del monastero, oggi, conservata presso la chiesa madre di S. Canio. Nell'abside si può ammirare la cinquecentesca pala raffigurante l'Annunciazione, mentre sulla destra del maestoso altare dell'Annunciazione si trova una tela raffigurante la "Deposizione di Cristo", sulla sinistra dell'altare maggiore vi è quello dedicato a San Canio. Nella parte superiore della chiesa, anticamente utilizzata dalle Suore del Monastero per assistere alle funzioni religiose senza stare a contatto con il popolo che si trovava a piano terra, si trova una tela raffigurante Santa Barbara.

DESCRIPTION
The Benedictine Monastery, presently home of the City, is located in Republic Square, from which proceeds through the underpass beneath the monastery itself, you arrive in the square in front of the Church of the Annunciation, from here, continue by Berrilli, you follow a scenic route along which you can admire ancient buildings and housing characteristics of the place. The Benedictine Monastery dates back to the second half of 1500, a plaque unveiled on the facade facing Via Roma testifies to its ancient origins, with the date 1586 and the initials of the Annunciation (Ave Gratia Plena), along with three roses, symbol of 'Universitas Calitri. The Church of the Annunciation, attached to the monastery is the oldest church in Calitri left standing, the portal is Renaissance with bezel, inspired by Romanesque architecture; inside the church the main altar in baroque style dating back to '700, is of exquisite workmanship and wooden sculptures representing the Annunciation and the Angel of the Annunciation. There is another wooden altar of the XVIII century with a sculpture of a Madonna and Child. The two niches, currently empty, originally housed two statues, one of which is St. Benedict, patron of the Order of the monastery, today preserved in the mother church of St. Canio. In the apse you can admire the sixteenth-century altarpiece depicting the Annunciation, while on the right the majestic altar of the Annunciation is a painting of the "Deposition of Christ", on the left of the main altar is dedicated to San Canio. At the top of the church, formerly used by the Sisters of the Monastery to attend religious services without being in contact with the people who were on the ground floor, there is a painting of Santa Barbara.
